Reputation Management – New requirements to retrieve Instagram mentions
What is it?
Users of Reputation Management are now required to connect an Instagram business profile and complete a two-step process in order to retrieve Instagram mentions.
Why is it important?
Instagram has updated its API to require Facebook admin permissions when connecting an Instagram business account to an external application. This feature has been added for increased security to your social media accounts. In order to connect an Instagram profile to Reputation Management and begin retrieving Instagram mentions you will need to change from a personal profile to a business profile and connect it to a Facebook business page.
How does it work?
You can learn more about Instagram business profiles and how to get one here: Set up a business profile on Instagram.
To learn how to link your Instagram account to your Facebook page here: How do I link my Instagram account to a Facebook Page that I manage?
If you previously connected an Instagram account, you may notice it has been disconnected. Once you have updated your Instagram account to a business profile, you can connect it to your Reputation Management account.
To connect your Instagram account go to Reputation Management > Settings > Connect Accounts.
Next to Instagram click the + symbol to add an account. Your available Facebook business accounts will display. Choose the account that is linked to the Instagram profile you want to connect.
Your Instagram business profiles will be listed below. Choose the appropriate one and click Add to connect your account,
Who gets it?
