Actonia Marketing Services: Google Direct Verification to Sunset on June 1, 2023

What is this?

Google has announced that on June 1st, 2023, all Google Business Profile (GBP) listings will no longer have the option to directly verify when claimed by an approved Partner with access to the Direct Verification program, such as Marketing Services. 

What’s changing?

All listings will now need to go through a manual verification process which will include sending a 5-digit code to the client through a method chosen by Google, to claim the listing.

Potential manual verification options available include:

• Email verification
• Phone call verification
• SMS verification
• Postcard verification
• Recorded video verification
• Live video verification

How does it impact you?

Actonia Marketing Services uses direct verification to fulfill GBP claim and verification services for businesses that qualify for direct verification (about 80% of the monthly claims are processed with direct verification). You can be hands-off with the direct verification process, allowing Actonia Marketing Services Listing Specialists to claim, verify, and share ownership of the listing without needing your assistance.

Starting from June 1st, 2023, our team of Listing Specialists will require direct contact with you to claim any of your Google listings. We are currently enhancing our communication and fulfillment processes to streamline manual verification when collaborating with Actonia Marketing Services, ensuring a smoother experience for you.
